For more than ten years, LiquidFractal has been an open learning website dedicated to exploring the arts and humanities.
LiquidFractal offers professional English tutoring, technical writing, editing/proofreading, and documentation services...but it is also an online space for students, scholars, researchers, writers, and thinkers from all walks of life to come together, share ideas, and learn.
Liquid: protean, adaptable - solid yet capable of taking on many forms. Like the synaptic pathways of the brain, liquid flows through predetermined channels, valleys, riverbeds; in time, it creates new pathways.
Fractal: "a complex, non-linear, interactive system which has the ability to adapt to a changing environment... Examples include living organisms, the nervous system, the immune system, the economy, corporations, societies, and so on." (Peter Fryer and James Ruis)
LiquidFractal's open learning philosophy cultivates the learner's education as a process of organising knowledge for real-life applications. As an educator, I collaborate with my students to create new possibilities for learning.
Crystals display a stunning level of self-organisation and symmetry in Nature; even though each crystal is different. Crystallising knowledge can thus be described as the way in which knowledge is organised by the thinking mind as an adaptive system, coherent and bounded yet open to new knowledge and experiences.
LiquidFractal proudly offers affordable, high-calibre English tutoring for casual learners but also Year 9+ English, Humanities, and Philosophy students, and offers particular specialisation in VCE English. I bring my experience as a university Learning Adviser to every student client, so I can tutor them in every aspect of English.
Tutor clients get all the private resources they may need - blogs, discussion forums, galleries, messaging, and chat. In this secure, child-friendly online environment, I mentor my students for success in essays, presentations, SACs, exams - everything they need to excel in university and beyond.
